The SCAT activated carbon exhaust filter S adsorbs solvent vapours and supports a safe, low-emission laboratory environment. The multi-layer filter filling combines specialised activated carbons for solvent vapours as well as acidic and alkaline components. This means that not only typical organic vapours from HPLC waste are adsorbed, but also small acid and alkali fractions from eluents and mobile phases. The high-performance activated carbon with an internal surface area of up to 1500 m²/g and a CTC value of >90 % stands for high adsorption capacity and long service life. With integrated splash guard, change indicator and up to 3 months service life.

The SCAT Activated Carbon Exhaust Filter S is an exhaust filter for the HPLC waste side. Thanks to its GL14 thread – the classic exhaust filter connection – it screws directly onto the SCAT Safety Waste Cap. During operation, the filter reliably adsorbs rising solvent vapors such as methanol or acetonitrile. Its multi-layer SCAT activated carbon also binds acidic and alkaline vapors – a clear advantage over conventional carbon filters. At the same time, it acts as a pressure-relief valve, allowing vapors to escape in a controlled way. As a result, occupational exposure limits for toxic solvents are kept well below their thresholds, indoor air pollution drops noticeably, and employee health is protected. A built-in change indicator shows when the filter needs to be replaced. The “S” version offers a service life of 3 months and suits applications with lower throughput. Replacement takes seconds and requires no tools – simply unscrew the old filter and screw in the new one.
