The SCAT Safety Cap II, B53 is a hermetically sealing safety cap for safe HPLC solvent supply on laboratory bottles with B53 thread. 2 capillary ports enable clean routing of solvent tubing directly to the HPLC system. The installed air valve opens under vacuum and provides controlled, filtered air intake into the bottle. This reduces solvent vapors, improves occupational safety and optimizes laboratory processes in analytics, chemistry and pharma.

Details

The SCAT Safety Cap II with B53 thread is a supply cap for HPLC solvent supply to laboratory bottles with B53 thread. With two capillary connections, two solvent lines can be routed through the cap simultaneously – a typical requirement in analytics, chemistry and pharmaceuticals. Within the Safety Cap family, the Cap II covers workstations where two line routings are sufficient. Unused connections can be closed with the supplied PFA blind plug, so the system remains sealed with different configurations. The Safety Cap II is suitable for laboratory environments where a manageable number of lines at the supply bottle is desired. The ventilation valve opens when there is negative pressure in the bottle and allows filtered air to flow in; this limits uncontrolled vapour release during operation and helps reduce exposure. The supplied PFA fittings in three outer diameters – 1.6 mm, 2.3 mm and 3.2 mm – enable direct connection with standard HPLC capillaries. The cap is screwed onto the laboratory bottle and forms a low-emission supply unit with it. The change indicator documents the replacement date of the ventilation valve and supports plannable maintenance intervals. The B53 thread determines use on matching laboratory bottles; other bottle threads require the corresponding cap variant.
