The SCAT ventilation valve enables controlled, filtered pressure equalization in hermetically sealed eluent and solvent containers in HPLC laboratories. When solvent is withdrawn by the HPLC and negative pressure develops, the valve opens reliably and allows filtered air to enter. This supports consistent liquid flow, stable process conditions and reproducible analytical results. At the same time, the valve helps reduce solvent vapors and contributes to safer working conditions in the laboratory. Recommended service life: 6 months.

Details

The SCAT Venting Valve (item 397008) provides emission-free pressure equalization on SCAT Safety Caps for HPLC supply bottles. It is screwed in via the UNF 1/4"-28 thread, allowing fast and secure installation. As the eluent is drawn off, a vacuum forms inside the hermetically sealed bottle. The venting valve equalizes this pressure – exclusively toward the inside, so that no solvent vapors can escape. An integrated PTFE filter retains fine particles from the ambient air and reliably protects the eluent from contamination. Over its 6-month service life, a single venting valve prevents the evaporation of up to 750 ml of solvent. This keeps mixing ratios stable and analytical results reproducible, while noticeably reducing the solvent load in the laboratory air – an effective contribution to meeting occupational exposure limits under TRGS 900. For demanding applications, the Luer lock adapter also enables degassing of the eluent or the removal of air humidity. You can keep track of the next replacement using the included Timestrip or your own note. Each unit is supplied in a convenient pack of 8 (PU = 8).
