The SCAT ventilation valve enables controlled, filtered pressure equalization in hermetically sealed eluent and solvent containers in HPLC laboratories. When solvent is withdrawn by the HPLC and negative pressure develops, the valve opens reliably and allows filtered air to enter. This supports consistent liquid flow, stable process conditions and reproducible analytical results. At the same time, the valve helps reduce solvent vapors and contributes to safer working conditions in the laboratory. Recommended service life: 6 months.

Details

The SCAT Europe vent valve provides emission-free pressure equalization in solvent bottles on the supply side of HPLC systems. It is screwed into a SCAT Safety Cap using the standard UNF 1/4"-28 thread. When eluent is drawn off, a vacuum forms inside the hermetically sealed bottle. The vent valve compensates for it – venting occurs exclusively inward, so no solvent vapors can escape. An integrated PTFE filter retains the finest particles from the ambient air and protects the eluent from contamination. This keeps mixing ratios stable, analytical results reliable, and the workplace free from toxic vapors such as methanol or acetonitrile. An optional Luer lock adapter also lets you degas or dry the eluent. Over its recommended service period of around six months, a single vent valve prevents the evaporation of up to 750 ml of solvent. Because the filter gradually clogs, SCAT recommends replacing it every six months – easy to track with a Timestrip or a personal note. Supplied in convenient packs of 50.
