The SCAT round canister with 10 litres and S65 thread is an HPLC waste container for the collection and disposal of liquid laboratory waste. It is used in HPLC and chemical laboratories where solvent mixtures are generated and collected in an organised manner.
At 10 litres, this round canister covers the typical waste volume of an HPLC workstation. Compared with 5-litre containers, the replacement interval is longer, while the canister remains easy to handle at 205 × 430 × 205 mm. The S65 thread requires a matching Safety Waste Cap.
The S65 thread accepts a matching SCAT Safety Waste Cap, which is screwed on directly. The canister is made of PE-HD, the standard material for typical HPLC waste mixtures; chemical resistance must be verified against the specific waste mixture. Together with an optional activated carbon exhaust filter, a closed system is created that reduces emissions directly at the container and helps decrease exposure in the laboratory.
The 10-litre round canister is not of electrostatic conductive design. For flammable solvents, the hazard assessment determines whether a conductive variant is required. Weight when full and stability with the cap screwed on should be considered when choosing the location.
