The flexible PE-LD/EVA inner container is combined with the matching outer carton to form a UN-approved packaging system. Compared with rigid containers, the Politainer saves storage space, material and freight volume. Compatible with suitable SCAT components for safe, low-emission waste handling in the laboratory.

The SCAT Politainer with 10 litres and GL38 thread is a foldable inner container for collecting liquid laboratory waste and solvent mixtures. The flexible inner element made of PE-LD/EVA copolymer can be folded flat after emptying, reducing storage, return and freight volume compared with rigid containers. Within the container family, the Politainer is aimed at laboratories where storage space is scarce or where empty containers are returned regularly. At 10 litres, it covers medium waste volumes; the dimensions when filled are 228 × 228 × 228 mm. The GL38 thread is intended for combination with matching SCAT Safety Waste Caps. Together with an activated carbon exhaust filter, a closed system is created that reduces emissions directly at the container and helps decrease exposure in the laboratory. The chemical resistance of the PE-LD/EVA copolymer must be verified against the specific waste mixture. For the Politainer, UN approval only results from the combination with the matching 10-litre outer box. The foldable inner container alone is not a complete dangerous goods packaging; suitability and the requirements of the waste disposal contractor must be verified before transport.
