Details
The SCAT flat canister with 20 litres and S70/71 thread is an HPLC waste container for the collection and disposal of liquid laboratory waste. It is used in HPLC and chemical laboratories where solvent mixtures are generated and collected in an organised manner.
At 20 litres, this flat canister is aimed at laboratories with higher waste volumes. The flat design measuring 283 × 292 × 376 mm produces a clearly defined, wide footprint and low overall height – an advantage in under-bench cabinets and beneath fume hoods where height is limited.
The S70/71 thread accepts a matching SCAT Safety Waste Cap, which is screwed on directly. The canister is made of PE-HD; chemical resistance must be verified against the specific waste mixture. Together with an optional activated carbon exhaust filter, a closed system is created that reduces emissions directly at the container and helps decrease exposure in the laboratory.
The UN-Y approval identifies the canister as design-tested dangerous goods packaging. It does not mean that any waste mixture may be transported in it – suitability and the requirements of the waste disposal contractor must be verified in advance. With the 20-litre flat canister, weight when full and transport route during replacement should be planned. The flat geometry supports an orderly arrangement of several containers side by side.
