Protection from Vapors
Two Solutions for the Safe Removal of Solvent Vapors
When collecting liquid laboratory waste, harmful or flammable vapors are often generated. Since the composition of laboratory waste frequently changes, controlled capture or removal of these emissions is particularly important. Our SymLine Safety Waste Caps provide two safe solutions – tailored to your existing laboratory equipment.
Option 1: Direct Connection to the Laboratory Exhaust System
If a laboratory exhaust system is available, the Safety Waste Cap can be connected directly to the exhaust system at the GL14 thread using a suitable exhaust hose. Any solvent vapors generated are thus reliably and safely removed via the laboratory exhaust system.
The Safety Waste Cap provides a safe interface between the piping system and the collection container. Its freely rotating core made of electrically conductive plastic enables convenient installation, ensures a secure seal, and is suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. In combination with the appropriate exhaust hose, it creates a closed disposal system that reliably protects users from harmful vapors and meets the highest safety requirements.
Option 2: With Activated Carbon Exhaust Filter
If no laboratory exhaust system is available, SCAT activated carbon exhaust filters provide an effective alternative. They are attached directly to the GL14 thread of the Safety Waste Cap and reliably reduce the release of harmful vapors.
Thanks to the angled connection of the Safety Waste Cap, the filters can be installed without an additional offset adapter. The three-layer activated carbon structure adsorbs solvent vapors and is also suitable for capturing acid and alkali vapors. This ensures safe and convenient venting of the collection containers even without a central exhaust system.
